Statement
The idea behind Driftway Driftwood came while tryingto get children out of thehouse, and away from the computer. While 
the artisthas always had an affinity for driftwood--the forces of water bringing branches,logs, and roots together to act upon each other, leaving all transformed, stripped of pretense and protection, revealing the true story of the life of each in vivid detail and contrast--it wasn’t until he saw the shear number of collected pieces upon the shores of nearby parks that he began to look more closely at the treasures within the piles. It was at this time that pieces began to speak, a silent utter of their self, placing the power of a name within the hands of the artist. This power weighed heavily upon the artist’s mind, and he began to see ways to share each name with others, that the beauty found within these pieces might be made public, and the stories of each life might be heard.
