2018 March Art Fair - SAVE THE DATE   March 3rd & 4th

The first year for the Mellwood March Art Show was 2017 and the turnout was wonderful, all Artists did very well!

The intent for this show is to make it accessible to all age artists. Here at Mellwood we are trying to keep costs down for the artist so emerging artists have opportunity to participate.

Booth Info

10x10 booth is the only size available at this show. The dividers will be provided for you so there is no need to bring any kind of tent (Back panel will be 8 feet high and both side panels will be 3 feet high). Booth number will be given to the artist upon check in and they will be directed to their number.

Check- in

By individual artist, exceptions can be made with reasonable explanation, with assurance that the Artist will be on site during the hours of the show. A photo ID (driver’s license or other) and vehicle license number will be required to check in. At check in your booth number will be assigned to you.


Setup time starts on Friday the 2nd of March at 1pm-5pm, doors to the event will be locked over night starting at 5:30pm. Saturday March 3rd, show opens at 10am and will run until 7pm. Sunday March 4th show opens at 10am and runs until 5pm, Breakdown will start at 5:15 and all booths have to be cleared out by 7pm.

Artist Amenities: Water, a light breakfast, and coffee will be provided by Bristol both mornings.


Jurors will be selecting high quality fine arts that will appeal to a diverse audience. Jurors will view 4 images plus one booth display. Your display image should reveal no names and have no people standing in it. If no booth image is available Artist may submit a group showing of artworks on display. Jurors will look for a high level of professionalism in such a group image. Jurying will be done by an independent panel consisting for 3 or more jurors.

  • Drawing: Original compositions drawn by the artist’s hand in charcoal, pastel, pencil, ink, etc.
  • Painting: Original oil, acrylics, watercolor, Gouache etc. are in this category. Reproductions of all kinds will be prohibited. Painters wishing to sell any prints must submit a separate application in the Graphics/Printmaking category.
  • Photography: Original photographs by the artist. May include digital alteration or hand painting.
  • Mixed Media: Original work where the primary intent is the union of two or more media. (2D Mixed Media is wall mounted mixed media work - 3D Mixed Media is freestanding mixed media work).
  • Digital Art: This category includes any original work for which the original image, or the manipulation of other source material, was executed by the artist using a computer. Work in this category must be in limited editions, signed and numbered on archival quality materials.
  • Fiber: Works created from fibers, including basketry, weaving, papermaking, leather, and fabric.
  • Fiber Wearable: Work where the primary intention is to be worn and where the primary material is fiber
  • Jewelry: All jewelry must be original designs made by the artist. Commercial findings are acceptable
  • Ceramics: Created from the imagination and by the hand of the artist from clay, porcelain, stoneware, and/or earthenware. Bisque from commercial molds is prohibited.
  • Sculpture: Three-dimensional works incorporating any material that are carved, modeled, constructed or cast
  • Wood: Functional and sculptural work where the primary material is wood. Original works must be hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.


  • Booth number and placement will be assigned at check in after showing valid form of ID.
  • All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist. Work done by a production studio is not acceptable. Buy-sell and/or imports are not allowed. Artists selling work that is not their own will not be allowed to participate.
  • Only one artist per application will be considered by the jury; with the exception of artists who collaborate. Collaborative artists each contribute to create the single body of work and may jury together and be listed as collaborators, associates may not display art but may tend the booth.
  •  All work exhibited must be for sale.
  • Artists may exhibit work only in the category in which they were juried. Exhibited work must be consistent in style, quality, and method with juried images. Work that was not juried will be removed from the booth.
  • Artists are responsible for proper protection of work and booth, the event room where the show will be head will be locked over night and opened back up at 8:00am the next morning.
  • Jewelry is to be sold only by artists accepted in that category
